Double Fun

Hello Trailmen-

Are you ready for double fun? This weekend, the Troop is going to Leonard’s Mills.  First, we are going to tour a logging and milling community from the 1790s.  After that, we are going to hike the trails in Penobscot Experimental Forest located next to Leonard’s Mills.  The hike will be a little under 4 miles, and the trail is rated as “easy.”

Admission Cost:  Leonard’s Mills charges admission.  The charge is $10 for adults and $5 for our young men.

Meeting Time: We will meet at Leonard’s Mills entrance at 12:30 on Saturday, October 1st.  From there, we will start the tour.   We will regroup at the entrance to start the hike. The hike will start at approximately 2:30 pm. We should be finished about 6:00 pm.

Directions: From Bangor and Brewer, take ME Route 9 from Brewer 4 miles towards Eddington. Turn onto ME Route 178 and follow towards Milford for another 4.5 miles. A large sign will be on the left but the entrance and Government Road will be on the the right directly across from the sign.
