Meeting Reminder

Trailmen-

After several weeks off, it is time to get back onto the ole’ meeting schedule.

As a reminder, we meet at Crossroads Christian Camp, Saturdays, from 3:30pm until 5:30pm.  This Saturday (Jan. 7),  we will meet in the Lodge at the Camp.

Before we left for the winter break, we asked that everyone get back in the habit of coming to the meeting prepared for whatever comes our way.  Here is a list of the things we would like everyone to bring.

  • Bible
  • a flashlight (hand held or headlamp)
  • hat (hunter’s orange is ideal)
  • gloves or mittens
  • a bottle of water
  • some sort of bag to hold everything

Although it should go without saying, please dress appropriately.  We often work and play outside and there is nothing worse than being cold because you didn’t dress properly.

See you all this Saturday.

Trailmen-

After review, the University of Maine’s  art museum turned out not to be such a good choice.  Ninety percent of the artwork easily met our Christian standards,  the other ten percent, not so much.

In keeping with our art theme, the Troop is going to try another University of Maine facility.   Hudson Museum is more along the line of a traditional museum.  I believe, however, that we will find it in keeping with both our art and our collection themes.

Cost: There is no charge for admission.

What:  Hudson Museum

When: This Saturday (Dec. 10) from 1:00p until 4:00p.

Where:  We will meet at the door of the Hudson Museum on the on the          UM-Orono campus (directions below)

Meeting Place:  East Eddington Community Church

Meeting Time:  9:00 am

Finish Time: 5:30 pm

Cost:  Admission cost for Cole Land Transportation Museum is $7 for  adults.   The boys will get in for free.

Meeting Plans – Saturday, March 5th 2016 ::PLEASE READ and RESPOND::

Hello, Trailmen and Families!

This past month, we were focusing on teaching our sons about being Men of Honor. We looked at career paths, integrity, and heritage (talking about the generations that came before us), and ultimately taking a trip to the Central Fire Department in Bangor, to learn about men and women that we highly honor in our society…our fire fighters.

That transitions nicely into a great opportunity that we are being afforded this coming weekend.  I just spoke with someone at the Maine GOP office about having our parents and boys attend the Republican Primary Caucus this Saturday at Husson University.  They said that kids are certainly welcome to attend.  I’m also checking to see if there is anything the boys can do to help with event.

This is a great opportunity for us to show our boys a portion of the civic/government process. So, in lieu of meeting at Crossroads Camp this Saturday (3/5), we will be meeting at 3:00pm at Husson University (just outside the Peabody Room, in the Campus Center).

IMPORTANT: Whether or not you are planning to attend this Saturday, could you please contact me (click here for email) to let me know if you will attend or not.  Thank you!!

Walk Worthy,

Steve

P.S. Since I am a registered Republican, I am only allowed to participate in the Republican caucus. If any of our moms/dads are registered Democrats and would like to arrange a meeting at the Democratic caucus please contact me, and I’ll be glad to help you with the process of  setting that up! The Democratic caucus will be held on Sunday, March 6th.
